FCA to Host Webinar – “Consumer Duty: The Next Steps”

The Consumer Duty came into force on 31 July 2023 with the aim of setting a higher standard of consumer protection in financial services. Three months since its implementation and we are already seeing improvements, but the FCA has reminded firms to be continuously learning and adapting their practices and not seeing the Duty as just a “one and done” exercise.

In addition to this, the regulator recently announced that they will be hosting a webinar to help firms understand its expectations now that the Duty is in force.

The webinar will be held on 6 December 2023 from 10am until 11:30am.

Key focus will be on the following areas:

  • The FCA’s supervision and enforcement approach
  • Sector-specific areas of focus
  • Examples of good practice
  • Next steps for firms

The FCA will also take questions during the live webinar, and those who register will be able to submit questions when registering. The webinar will be of interest to regulated firms, trade associations, professional bodies and compliance consultants.
