In a recent bulletin, the FCA has reminded firms that they need to register for its online platform, Connect. Connect is an online system that is used to submit applications and notifications to the regulator. From January 2020, firms are required to be registered for Connect to review and update their firm details annually.
In cases where a firm’s details have not changed from the previous year, the firm will still be required to confirm that their details are up to date via Connect.
Firms who are not currently Connect users can expect to be emailed, called and written to by the FCA, urging them to sign-up to the system, before the requirement comes into force in January 2020.
It is suggested that firms register for Connect as soon as possible, in preparation for the new rules.
