FCA to host Brexit briefings for regulated firms

The FCA has announced that they are to host two Brexit briefings for regulated firms. These are scheduled to take place in London and Edinburgh with a live webcast of each.

The regulator has stated that the aim of these briefings is to give firms a clearer understanding of their approach to dealing with the impact of Brexit.

The event dates are as follows:

  • Monday 11 March – Central London
  • Thursday 14 March – Edinburgh

The UK is expected to leave the European Union on 29 March 2019, but much uncertainty remains.

Nausicaa Delfas, Executive Director of International at the FCA, will explain, at both events, how the FCA has been preparing for Brexit and what will be expected of firms. There will also be a Q&A session in which any concerns that firms have can be addressed.

The events are aimed at senior staff who are likely to be involved in Brexit preparations in regulated firms. The FCA has said that they particularly encourage representatives from smaller firms to attend or to watch online.

Attendance in person at either of the events is limited to two representatives per regulated firm.
