Aviva Development Zone

As someone who has a vulnerable close relative, I have seen first-hand how a robust vulnerable customers policy can make dealing with utilities and banking a lot less stressful for all involved (both for the vulnerable customers and their families).

I have no issue with any individual who wishes to better themselves and take a path of formal study, but it should be relevant to their day to day activities and provide a direct benefit to them and you as the employer (after all, you may well be paying for it), rather than ticking any sort of box.

Insurance broking staff are busy people and it is all too easy to forget to record CPD, or to not fully appreciate the types of activity that can count towards CPD targets. Many people will do far more CPD than they realise or record.
Terence Clark, chairman at RWA provides an overview of CPD best practice, and how a bespoke training procedure can help simplify the planning and recording process.

RWA and The Aviva Development Zone will be at the BIBA Conference in Manchester on the 10th and 11th May 2017. Come and find us on Stand C64 and join our silver anniversary celebrations.

Drawing upon feedback from learners and insights gathered from our usage data, the team at RWA has been hard at work on a raft of improvements to the Aviva Development Zone.

Goal setting is an essential part of making your ambitions a reality. Without clear and focused objectives, it becomes increasingly difficult to stay on track and keep to a productive time frame. When it comes to your CPD, careful planning is the most effective way of making sure you hit that 35 hour target.

We’ve all sat through some dire training sessions, simply looking at the clock in mind-numbing boredom, waiting for it to end, and retaining very little of what we were taught. But Continuous Professional Development doesn’t need to be like that.

Managing workplace projects can be a struggle, especially when you’re juggling various tasks and working to tight deadlines. A Gantt chart is a commonly used project management tool designed to organise tasks against a specific time frame.

CPD (Continuous Professional Development) the dreaded, essential and inconvenient truth of working in a profession. There is a very important element that is overlooked in the sentiment above – ownership.
